!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

so last week Opposaurus #1b got a flu/cold something with snots and whatnot. Saturday, Opposaurus #3 woke up at 2am with a return delivery of milk and gummy bears. I hate puke. He also had a temperature of 102.5 F.

We give him Tylenol and it goes down. Later Sunday its back up tp 102, some more Tylenol and its drops to 100.7 and that’s about it. My wife was concerned this was related to his recent surgery (despite being 20 days ago now) decided it was time to visit the ER at 8pm Sunday night. She arrived and he was up to 104.5 F. Damn son chill out. The wanted to rule out a UTI but how do you get a urine sample from a 1y/o cuz you can;t tell them to pee into a cup. So they tape a bag to his dingdong but of course hes like ‘”’m not peeing with a bag taped to my wiener. Well unfortunately for him option B was a catheter. Good news is no UTI so no reason to suspect anything is wrong surgery related and is most likely some sort of general viral infection.

We finally got to bed at 230 am. I need a nap, a vacation and a stock of beer.

I feel for you.

After a week of sleeping mostly through the night, our little guy decided 4am was late enough to sleep in on a holiday. Of course, he fell back asleep around 4:45, but by that time the wife and I were fully awake and the coffee was brewed.

Now the kid is well rested, but wife and I are tired. As a bonus, someone is grumpy as shit, but I’m not saying who...

Can’t get a kid to pee in a cup? Sure you can! Just show him how it’s done and make it into a game. Of course, you will have deal with him peeing into other random cups, usually when visiting other people....

My neighbors have 4 kids. When 1 gets sick, they all get sick. Their pro-tip (since I only have 2 and I’m not on their level) is to take that moving floor covering plastic and coat the carpets between beds, bathroom, and to the parents room (you know they always go to you and puke on YOUR floor when the bathroom is closer) and then clean up is drastically easier. It’s apparently real cheap at Lowe’s.

yeah tile you may as well not worry about. but man if you hate cleaning up puke (everyone hates that right? right?!) then you definitely don’t want to clean carpet at the “puking hours” of 2-4 am.

That’s a good idea. We use blankets and towels and that works okay, but not as good as the plastic would be. The ol bissel gets a good workout on sick kiddos days. Puke I can handle. And getting pretty good dealing with crap too. Had the oldest wake up this morning after crapping his pants in bed, yeah that’s not a fun Monday morning. But you deal. Better than sick kids for sure. We don’t even segregate the boys when they get sick anymore. It’s bound to run through the whole crew. But I’ll get some of that plastic for future sick house times. That’s a great idea.

There may still be hope for them, we’ve dodged a few of our boys sicknesses. But probably less than 50%.

Ours are 8 yrs, 5yrs and 15 months. When they’re little like that, everything that goes wrong feels so awful. #1 has broken three bones (two when she was less than 2), #2 hasn’t really had anything happen, and #3 hasn’t had anything worse than teething. We’ve had colds and fevers and the like, but nothing so bad that fever...

#1 is tall with zero fat, even when she was a baby. At least that’s my theory. First one was falling off the bed (onto carpet), second one was nurses elbow, third one she was 2nd grade at an indoor trampoline park.

Neither of the others has broken any bones (knock on wood), so that’s my case for us not being the worst parents...

Congrats on the new addition! Always easiest for me to say we have 2 on earth and one in heaven. 5 year old boy, would be 3 year old daughter (she didn’t make it, went to about 6-7 months of the pregnancy), and a 16 month daughter. We didn’t know what we were having the 3rd time around, we had one of each so we figured we’d go the surprise route.

If it’s anything like my situation (every kid is different) my daughter is so different from my son. Really feminine from a really young age. Surprised me a lot.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. That’s pretty devastating. Especially that far along. We lost a twin this time around. It was early on in the pregnancy but the other one (our first girl) is doing well. Took my wife a bit of time to get over it. We’re blessed to have the one healthy girl though. My father passed away before our second son was born, so more than 4 years ago, and my mom told us the one thing he would be missing would be to hold the little ones. So we say he finally has a little one to hold. Our three boys are all very different personalities. It’s really something. They are awesome though.

Thanks man, it was and sometimes still is devastating. My wife went through the full labor and we were able to hold her. She’s up being spoiled by great grand parents I’m sure. Sorry for all of your loss, it sucks.

But it also is cool that new life is on the way! Excited for ya man
